Kidepo National Park is gifted with a semi-arid savanna vegetation that is a habitant to a variety of wildlife species like Spotted hyenas, lions, cheetah, leopards, elephants, giraffe, zebras, African buffaloes, bat-eared foxes, Rothschild’s giraffes, greater and lesser Kudu, White eared Kob, Jacksons hartebeest, Klipspringer, reedbucks, guenthers dik-dik, elands, oribi, cheetahs, side striped jackal, wild dogs, caracal etc. this safari will also take you to Sipi Falls, these are a series of three falls located on the edge of Mount Elgon located a few kilometers from Mbale town, they drive tourists from all over the world to visit them and other nearby falls and the beautiful scenery.

Detailed Itinerary 7 days off the beaten path safari adventure
Day 1: Set off from Kampala to Kitugum
Day 1 of 7 days off the beaten path safari adventure, you will be required to wake up very early in the morning for a heavy breakfast, you will be picked up by your English driver guide who is also Usoke explorer’s representative. Be briefed about the safari and start your early journey in order to avoid traffic to Kitugum town in northern Uganda. Being that the journey is quite long but worth the encounter, stop overs to stretch your legs will be provided and en-route. Lunch will be served along the way in Gulu town. After proceed the journey on a tarmac road to Kitugum, arriving in the evening, check in at a booked lodge for dinner and rest after the long day.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo National Park
7 days off the beaten path safari adventure, On the second day of the safari, wake up at your convenient time and have breakfast served. After breakfast drive to Kidepo National Park, along the way you notice that the landscape and terrains of the area are different from other regions the country. Up on arrival, check at a booked lodge and have lunch served and rest for the rest of the day. Later have dinner and night rest.

Day 3: Game Drive and Cultural Encounter
On the third day of 7 days off the beaten path safari adventure After breakfast get ready to unveil the untold part of Uganda Wilderness. meet with your driver and transfer to the park headquarters where you start the drive through the park in search of its wildlife. You will first be amused with the park’s endless plains of savannah grassland with dry rivers and terrain. There is a lot to gaze and awe so keep your cameras close to capture some memories of the wilderness. Possible sightings include Spotted hyenas, lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, African buffaloes, bat-eared foxes, Rothschild’s giraffes, greater among others. There are lot of questions with no possible answer like how these creatures manage to survive in a semi-arid environment. Return to the lodge for a lunch break.
After lunch go for a cultural encounter in the neighbouring Karamojong village, the activity is guided by those that know the locals best. The culture of these people is no different from that of the Masai people of Kenya and Tanzania. Experience the life style of these people, they have a belief that God gave them the power to own cows hence they rear very many of them, watch them dance, sing, taste on their local dishes and some storytelling. After return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 4: Nature Walks
Day 4 of 7 days off the beaten path safari adventure, after a night’s rest like a baby, you will be woken up by the sweet melodies of birds singing, have a relaxed breakfast as you enjoy the breeze and environment of the lodge. After set off for nature walks in the park guided by an armed park ranger who knows the trails to use. The walk will go through the savannah grasslands of the area, small forest and thrilling wilderness. After return to the lodge for a lunch break.
Later in the afternoon go for a game drive in the park to watch more wildlife and drive as far as the Kidepo river offering eye-catching views of the scenic mountains that surround the park. Later retreat to the lodge for Overnight stay and Dinner.

Day 5: Visit at the Sipi Falls
Day 6 of 7 days off the beaten path safari adventure, have breakfast and drive to Sipi falls, along the way you will be amused by the beautiful scenery and local peoples. Upon reaching the fall, there are a number of activities to engage in like rock climbing, hiking, abseiling, birdwatching, cave exploration and more. After a long day of adventure, head to a booked lodge for dinner and night rest.

After breakfast, head for mount biking the bicycles are available for hire at the starting point. You ride through the Mount Elgon National Park trail. After that, head to the lodge for lunch. From your private veranda, watch wildlife from Mount Elgon National Park which is the most rewarding wildlife view on foot. Later dinner will eb served and night stay.
