HISTORY OF ROCK CLIMBING IN UGANDA

Rock Climbing came to the country with the colonial masters in 1960s and the first climbing guide was published in 1962 and the other in 1963. Later in 1991 an updated climbing guide was published with very few new routes. Over the years rock climbing has been very popular in the country.

During the climbing you will be required to have special top-quality equipment required for rock climbing like harnesses, helmets, ropes, hiking shoes and other climbing gears will be provided before engaging in the activity for your safety. Climbers are briefed on the rules and regulations to follow while carrying out the activity.
