Next up is Kibale National Park, the home of primates, it hosts 13 primates’ chimpanzees inclusive. You will also visit Africa’s second deepest fresh water lake; this lake is bilharzia free and crocodile free, hence safe for swimming.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park for Chimp Trekking

On the first day of 4 days gorilla chimpanzee trekking and lake bunyonyi, After breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver guide, have a briefing about the safari and commence your 4 days of adventures. The first destination will be Kibale National Park the primate’s capital of East Africa. A stop over for lunch will be availed and en-route. Upon reaching the park, opt between evening relaxation at the lodge or have a guided nature walk in the neighboring community. Later have dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 2: Chimp Trekking & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a heavy breakfast, on day 2  of  4 days gorilla, chimpanzee trekking and lake bunyonyi drive to the starting point of Chimpanzee trekking for briefing on the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest, you will be divided into small groups and start the trek. This activity can take from 2-4 hours of searching and on meeting the primates you will be allocated a full hour to spend with them in the natural home, unlike gorillas who are always on ground with small movements, chimpanzees are always jumping from branch to branch. You will watch them play and eat among other activities. After trekking return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch park your belongings and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon reaching check in at the lodge for dinner and night stay.

4 days gorilla, chimpanzee trekking and lake bunyonyi 

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

On this day 3 of 4 days gorilla chimpanzee trekking and lake bunyonyi,  you will be required to wake up earlier than usual, after breakfast carry your packed lunch meet up with your guide driver and transfer to the park headquarters which are also the starting point for gorilla trekking. You will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while in the forest and commence with the search for these apes, this can range from 4-8 hours of search. On meeting the gorillas, you will be allocated a full hour to spend with them in their natural environment, you will have a chance to watch them play, eat, communicate, breast feed the young ones and more, this activity is very rewarding and worth it all. After trekking return to the HQ where you will be rewarded trekking certificates to justify your contribution to the conservation of these highly endangered species.

After packing your belongings and driving to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat cruise on its waters, swimming, nature walks, birdwatching, visiting its 29 islands, explore surrounding communities and more. Later check in at the lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 4: Drive back to Entebbe

A stop over at the equator for a lunch break and shopping for some souvenirs at a craft shop.
