Detailed itinerary of 14 Days Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar Luxury Safari

Day 1: Arrival

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and transfer you to the hotel where you will spend a night.

Day 2: Transfer to Maasai Mara

After breakfast, you will depart Nairobi for Maasai Mara National Reserve, the most iconic reserve in Africa. Maasai Mara is a home to the Big Five – lion, leopards, elephants, rhinos and cape buffaloes. Along the way you will have a stop at the Rift Valley View Point for scenic views of the escarpments and in Narok for a brief interaction with the locals.

Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, in the afternoon you will for a game drive where you have a chance to see predators hunt for their evening meal. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full Day in Maasai Mara

Spend a full day exploring Maasai Mara National Reserve on morning and afternoon game drives. Maasai Mara is one of the greatest wilderness of the world and there is always something new to see. Morning game drive starts at 6:30 am as predators are coming out of their dens to hunt, some of the animals to look for include lions, leopards, cheetahs and other resident mammals including Maasai giraffe, impalas, buffaloes, topis, zebras and both the Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelles.

You will drive back to the lodge for breakfast and rest of mid-morning at leisure. You can choose the optional activities available, such as a guided nature walk or visit the Maasai Village to experience their culture. After lunch, you will proceed for an afternoon game drive with more action in the savannah plains. You will be lucky to see prey-predator action and colorful birds. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Amboseli National Park, renowned for its large herds of free-ranging African elephants as well as huge herds of wildebeests and many other animals including zebras, hyenas, antelope and the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Along the way you will have lunch, arrive in the park in the late afternoon, and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Amboseli National Park to Arusha

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park for an early morning game drive on which you will see several animals including large herds of elephants, antelopes, hyenas, zebras, wildebeests, lions, giraffes among others. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast, later checkout and embark on a journey to Arusha with border crossing at Namanga Border. Continue to your lodge for check in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6:  Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, meet your guide and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This beautiful park is set against the steep escarpment of the Rift Valley, with every green groundwater forest and variety of ecosystems, including acacia woodland, grassy plains, a swampy fan delta, and of course the expansive Lake Manyara.

The park is home to a wide variety of mammal, bird and wildlife species including the rare tree-climbing lions. Lake Manyara National Park offers excellent game viewing with buffaloes, impalas, giraffes, bushbuck, waterbucks, hippos and lots of elephants roaming near the lake. Be on a lookout for blue monkeys, vervet monkeys and very active olive baboon troops.

Day 7: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on a drive to Serengeti National Park with transit in Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive in these endless plains in Afternoon, enjoy your packed lunch at one of the picnic sites. On a game drive you will have your first game drive in The Serengeti, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the endless plains of Serengeti National Park on morning and afternoon game drive. The game drives include a lunch break and a cultural tour in the local Maasai communities.

Game drives in Serengeti National Park offer opportunities of seeing several animals calling the Serengeti home including wildebeests, zebras, lions, leopards, cape buffaloes and The Great Migration if you visit in the right time of the year. Also, you will have a chance to explore the varied landscape of Serengeti, from open grass plains in the south savannah with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west.

Day 9:  Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy morning game drive en-route to Ngorongoro Crater. Have en-route visit to the Olduvai Gorge where early evidence of man was found by the Leakey Family in the late 1950s.

Arrive in Ngorongoro in later after, continue to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After breakfast you will head to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater 600 meters deep. The crater is 16 kilometers and 265 square kilometers in area, during the game drive you will enjoy the spectacular scenery and game viewing on which you will know why it has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Ngorongoro Crater is home to over 20,000 large mammals including lions, cheetah, eland, zebras and gazelles, flamingoes and other bird species often seen feeding at Makat Soda Lake. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Flight to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will be driven to Arusha Airport where you will catch your flight to Zanzibar Island. On arrival you will be picked up by your driver and transfer to your hotel in Stone Town.

Day 12: Zanzibar Tour

After breakfast, you will head to the Stone Town of Zanzibar for a tour, this interesting and exciting excursions lasts for three hours and takes you to most historical sites including Zanzibar Town Market, the Old Slave Market which now stands the Anglican Cathedral Church of Christ, the Arab Old Fort, High Court Building, Old German Consulate, Tip Tip House among others.

Afterwards, take a leisurely walk through the narrow streets of Stone Town.

Day 13: Relaxation

Spend this day relaxing and reflecting on your safari, do personal souvenir shopping, beach walks and a swim in the Indian Ocean.
