Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Boat Cruise & Game Drive

Your English-speaking guide will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Kampala or Entebbe, and after a short briefing, set off for Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda.

Highlights of the Journey:

• Equator Stopover in Masaka: Witness the famous Equator Water Experiment and take iconic photos while standing in both hemispheres

• Scenic Drive: Enjoy views of savannah grasslands, banana plantations, and Ankole cattle farms

Upon arrival at Lake Mburo National Park, have lunch and embark on an exciting boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you will spot hippos, crocodiles, and various water birds such as kingfishers, African fish eagles, and herons. The boat cruise offers a serene perspective of the park and its diverse aquatic life.

Evening Game Drive:
After the boat cruise, enjoy a game drive in the park, offering chances to see zebras, giraffes, elands, impalas, antelopes, and buffaloes, along with abundant birdlife.

Later, transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Start your day with an early morning game drive, increasing your chances of spotting:

• Hyenas returning to their dens

After the drive, return to the lodge, pack your luggage, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, approximately a 4-hour drive through the scenic countryside.

Afternoon Boat Cruise – Kazinga Channel
Upon arrival, embark on a 2-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife viewing spots, connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. Here you will witness huge herds of elephants and buffaloes, hippos and crocodiles basking along the shores, and vibrant bird species including African fish eagles, kingfishers, and herons.

Lake Katwe Salt Mining Tour
After the cruise, visit Lake Katwe, a historical salt mining site, and learn how locals extract salt using traditional methods. This community-led enterprise has been operating for centuries and offers a fascinating glimpse into a unique local industry.

Day 3: Kasenyi Trail Game Drive & Return to Kampala

After an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and go for a game drive along the Kasenyi trail, one of the best areas for wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you will spot elephants, Uganda kobs, antelopes, and buffaloes, with possible sightings of lions and hyenas. The Kasenyi Plains are known for their high concentration of wildlife and are considered one of the park’s prime game viewing areas.

After the game drive, begin your journey back to Kampala, stopping en route for lunch in Mbarara. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel, residence, or Entebbe Airport, depending on your flight schedule.
