Day 1 – Transfer to Kibale National Park
Your safari begins with an early morning pickup in Kampala, where you will meet your professional safari guide. After a brief introduction and orientation about the journey, you will begin the drive to Kibale National Park, one of Uganda’s most important primate habitats.
Kibale National Park is widely known as the primate capital of the world, hosting one of the largest concentrations of primates in Africa. While chimpanzees are the main attraction, the forest is also home to several other species such as:

Uganda mangabey
The park also boasts over 370 bird species, numerous butterfly species, and beautiful crater lakes scattered throughout the surrounding landscape.
In the afternoon, you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area known for its rich biodiversity. This guided nature walk provides an excellent opportunity to spot birds, monkeys, and other wildlife while learning about local conservation initiatives.
After the walk, you will proceed to your lodge where you will check in and relax for the evening.

Kibale Forest Lodge is located near Bigodi Village, just outside Kibale National Park. The lodge offers a peaceful environment surrounded by lush gardens and forest landscapes.
The lodge is owned and managed by Harriet Kemigisha, one of Uganda’s most respected bird guides, together with her husband Bosco. Their warm hospitality and dedication to conservation create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
Guests enjoy comfortable en-suite rooms with private balconies, offering scenic views of the surrounding greenery.
Day 2 – Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest.
During the trek, experienced guides and trackers will lead you through the forest in search of chimpanzee groups. Once located, you will have the opportunity to observe these intelligent primates in their natural habitat as they feed, communicate, and interact with one another.
After the trekking experience, you will continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most famous wildlife reserves.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its exceptional biodiversity, hosting:

Wildlife commonly seen in the park includes elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, antelopes, and a variety of birdlife.
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This boat safari offers excellent opportunities to observe large numbers of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and water birds along the shoreline.
After the cruise, you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Morning Game Drive and Return to Kampala
Your final day begins with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is one of the best times to see wildlife, as many animals are active during the cooler hours of the morning.
During the drive, you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and possibly predators such as lions.
After the game drive, you will begin the journey back to Kampala, enjoying views of Uganda’s countryside along the way.
Upon arrival in Kampala, you will be dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of your memorable safari experience with Usoke Explorers.
