🗓 Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, meet your driver-guide and depart Kampala for Bwindi. En route, stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe to take photos, enjoy coffee, and browse local crafts. Continue through the picturesque Ankole region, famous for its long-horned cattle and lush farmlands.

Have lunch in Mbarara before driving through the scenic Kigezi Highlands — often called the “Switzerland of Africa.” Arrive in Bwindi by evening, check in at your lodge, relax, and prepare for the next day’s thrilling adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Rise early for breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by UWA rangers on trekking rules and safety. With your packed lunch, head into the dense forest in search of your allocated gorilla family.

The trek can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you locate them, spend one magical hour observing their behavior — from feeding and playing to nurturing their young — a deeply emotional and humbling experience.

Return to your lodge in the afternoon to rest and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 3: Return to Kampala via Igongo Cultural Centre

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kampala. Stop in Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre, where you can explore exhibits showcasing the traditions and heritage of the Ankole people.

Continue to Kampala, arriving in the evening. Your driver will drop you at your preferred hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
