The Masai Mara is home to over 450 species of animals and birds . Wildlife you are likely to encounter includes:

  • Lions – large prides often seen hunting in coordinated groups on the savannah

  • Elephants – family herds moving across the plains

  • Leopards – secretive, often found in riverine forests

  • Cheetahs – hunting across open plains

  • Giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and crocodiles

Great Migration (Seasonal)

Between July and October, you may witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures . River crossings are dramatic, with crocodiles and predators waiting in the waters.

Activities:

  • Early morning and late afternoon game drives – the best times for active wildlife and photography

  • Flexible schedules with scenic picnic stops in the bush
