Detailed Travel Plan
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
Your safari begins with a morning departure from Nairobi, driving through Kenya’s scenic countryside and the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival in the Masai Mara, you will check in at your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive, exploring the open savannah in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, and a variety of plains wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Masai Mara Game Viewing Experience
Spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara on guided game drives. With a private safari vehicle, you can move at your own pace and focus on wildlife sightings of interest. Expect encounters with predators such as lions and cheetahs, as well as large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Meals are served at the lodge or as a picnic in the reserve. Overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and travel toward the Kenya–Tanzania border. After completing immigration formalities, continue into Tanzania and enter Serengeti National Park. Enjoy wildlife viewing along the way as you proceed to your lodge or tented camp, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 4–5: Serengeti National Park Exploration
Enjoy two full days dedicated to game drives in the Serengeti, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife ecosystems. The vast plains support large populations of lions, leopards, elephants, and grazing herds. Your guide will tailor each game drive to maximize sightings and photographic opportunities. Overnight stays are at a carefully selected lodge or luxury tented camp.
Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Begin the day with a morning game drive in the Serengeti before driving toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive in this unique natural amphitheater, home to rhinos, hippos, lions, and abundant birdlife. Afterward, ascend to your lodge located on the crater rim or nearby for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, travel to Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a game drive through the park’s diverse habitats, including forested areas, open grasslands, and the lakeshore. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, baboons, flamingos, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Later in the day, continue to your lodge near Arusha for overnight.
Day 8: Arusha – Departure
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, bringing your Kenya–Tanzania safari to a close.
