Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private safari guide. Begin your luxury Rwanda safari with a comfortable transfer north to Volcanoes National Park, passing through Rwanda’s scenic rolling hills and rural countryside. En route, enjoy brief stops for photography and refreshments. Arrive at your luxury lodge in the afternoon, check in, and spend the rest of the day relaxing in a serene environment with views of the Virunga volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by Rwanda Development Board rangers. You will then set off on your guided gorilla trek through bamboo forests and volcanic slopes. Once the gorilla family is located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing their behavior in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch, followed by a relaxed afternoon at leisure—spa treatments, nature walks, or simply enjoying the lodge’s facilities. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trek or Leisure Day
Today offers flexibility based on your interests. You may choose an optional second gorilla trek (permit required) to experience a different gorilla family, or enjoy a leisurely day at the lodge. Optional activities include guided forest walks, golden monkey trekking, cultural village visits, or wellness treatments. This day allows you to absorb the tranquility of Volcanoes National Park at your own pace.
Day 4: Nature Exploration & Relaxation
After breakfast, enjoy a guided nature walk in the foothills of the Virunga Mountains, exploring scenic crater lakes and lush countryside. Alternatively, remain at the lodge and enjoy uninterrupted relaxation, photography opportunities, and personalized service. This day is designed to balance adventure with comfort in a luxury setting.
Day 5: Volcanoes National Park – Return to Kigali
Following breakfast, check out and transfer back to Kigali. Depending on your departure time, enjoy a brief city visit or souvenir shopping before being dropped at the airport or your preferred location in Kigali.
