This 13-day Ugandan adventure is built for the bold. It combines heart-pounding white-water rafting on the Nile, quad biking through Jinja’s countryside, and mountain biking alongside zebras in Lake Mburo. You’ll trek through rainforests to find chimpanzees and mountain gorillas, hike an extinct volcano, and explore a papyrus swamp teeming with hidden wildlife. Boat safaris along the Kazinga Channel bring you face-to-face with hippos and crocodiles, while jeep safaris across Queen Elizabeth’s savannah reveal lions, elephants, and leopards. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Land at Entebbe International Airport, the gateway to Uganda’s wild wonders. Our guide – driver greets you with a placard bearing your name and transfers you to your hotel. Uganda welcomes you the land of primates, savannah, and the source of the Nile. Overnight in Entebbe or Kampala.
Day 2: Drive to Jinja – Quad Biking Tour
After breakfast, drive from Kampala to Jinja, the adrenaline capital of East Africa. The journey takes you through lush countryside, with glimpses of Lake Victoria along the way. Arrive in Jinja and switch from four wheels to two hop on a quad bike and explore the outskirts of this vibrant town. Ride through local villages, past sugar plantations, and along the banks of the Nile. The countryside opens around you, and the adventure begins.

Day 3: White-Water Rafting on the Nile River
Today is the thrill you’ve been waiting for. Launch onto the Nile River, the longest river in the world, and tackle its legendary rapids. With expert guides leading the way, you’ll navigate Grade 3–5 rapids, plunging through rushing currents and swirling whirlpools. The scenery is breathtaking lush riverbanks, tropical forests, and local fishermen casting their nets. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned rafter, this is an unforgettable ride. Return to your lodge in Jinja for a well-earned rest.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Leave the Nile behind and drive west to Kibale National Park, the primate capital of the world. The drive takes approximately 7 hours, passing through rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural villages. As you approach Kibale, the landscape transforms dense rainforests and riverine foliage replace the open farmlands. This is where the planet’s greatest concentration of primates lives. Settle into your lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Swamp Walk
Dawn breaks over Kibale. After a briefing at the park headquarters, set out into the forest to track habituated chimpanzee troops. The trek is demanding steep, muddy terrain but the reward is extraordinary. Watch our closest relatives swing through the canopy, feed on figs, and groom each other. The encounter lasts up to one hour, but the memory lasts forever.
In the afternoon, swap the forest for the wetland. Walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a papyrus swamp teeming with life. Spot rare birds, monkeys, and the occasional bushbuck. Your guide points out medicinal plants and hidden creatures, turning this walk into a treasure hunt through the swamp.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Enroute Game Drive
Leave Kibale and drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular savannah reserve. The journey is a preview of the safari to come keep your eyes peeled for wildlife along the way. Arrive in the afternoon and head straight out for an enroute game drive. The rolling savannah unfolds, and within minutes, you spot elephants, buffalo, and antelope grazing. Lion prides lounge in the grass, and warthogs trot across the track. You’ve arrived in the kingdom of the big game.

Day 7: Jeep Safari & Boat Safari on the Kazinga Channel
Today brings the best of Queen Elizabeth. Start with a morning jeep safari across the Kasenyi Plains, where lion prides hunt and herds of buffalo stretch across the horizon. Your guide tracks predators, while the plains game zebras, warthogs, and antelope move in constant motion.
In the afternoon, step onto a boat and cruise the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometre waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. The wildlife spectacle is breathtaking. Hippos crowd the shallows, grunting and splashing. Crocodiles bask on the muddy banks. Elephants drink at the water’s edge. And above, fish eagles and kingfishers dive and soar. This is one of Africa’s most concentrated wildlife views.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Leave the savannah behind and drive south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The 5–6 hour drive takes you through stunning landscapes the savannah gives way to steep hills, lush farmland, and finally the misty, dense rainforest of Bwindi. The road winds through tea plantations and villages, offering glimpses of daily Ugandan life. Arrive in the evening, settle into your lodge, and prepare for the crown jewel of your adventure.

Day 9: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Rushaga (Southern Bwindi)
This is the day you’ve been waiting for. After an early breakfast and briefing at the park headquarters, set out to track a habituated gorilla family in the Rushaga sector of southern Bwindi. Rushaga is home to eight gorilla families, including both habituated and research groups. The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, traversing steep, muddy terrain through the thick forest. Your guide and trackers lead the way, following signs of the gorillas’ overnight nests and feeding trails.
When you finally locate them, you’ll have one unforgettable hour. The silverback surveys his family, mothers cradle their infants, juveniles tumble and play all just metres away. Tears often flow. The hour ends too soon, and you begin the trek back with a full heart.

Day 10: Transfer to Mgahinga – Hike Sabinyo Volcano
Leave Bwindi and drive approximately 4 hours to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, nestled in the Virunga Volcanoes. Today’s adventure takes you up Mount Sabinyo, an extinct volcano standing at 3,669 metres. The hike is demanding steep trails through bamboo forests, scrambling over volcanic rocks but the reward is spectacular. At the summit, you’ll stand on the tripoint of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with views stretching across three countries. The crater rim, the surrounding volcanoes, and the misty valleys below are worth every drop of sweat.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
From the volcanic highlands, drive east to Lake Mburo National Park. The 8-hour journey takes you through ever-changing landscapes from volcanic slopes to rolling green pastures, and finally into the open savannah of Lake Mburo. As you approach, scan for wildlife: the park is famous for zebras, impalas, and the elusive shoebill stork. Leopards and hyenas also roam these plains. Arrive in the late afternoon and settle into your lodge.

Day 12: Mountain Bike Safari & Jeep Safari in Lake Mburo
Today is a safari with two gears. Start with a mountain bike safari outside the park boundaries. Pedal along quiet trails, passing through local villages and acacia woodlands. Wildlife is everywhere zebras grazing, impalas leaping, and warthogs scurrying across the track. It’s an intimate, slow-paced way to experience the bush.
In the afternoon, switch to a 4×4 and enter the park for a jeep safari. Explore the game-rich plains, searching for buffalo, zebras, and antelope. The park’s lakeshore holds hippos and crocodiles. Return to your lodge for dinner, celebrating your final night on safari.

Day 13: Return to Entebbe then Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast at the lodge before departing Lake Mburo for Entebbe. The drive takes approximately 4 hours, passing through the Great Rift Valley and lush highlands. Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in time for your departure flight. Your Ugandan adventure ends here, but the memories the gorillas, the rapids, the volcanoes, the savannah will stay with you forever.
