Mount Rwenzori National Park is a high-altitude protected area located in Kasese District, western Uganda. Positioned on the eastern edge of the Albertine Rift Valley, along the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, it is one of the most dramatic and biologically diverse parks in East Africa.
Home to Africa’s third-highest peak, the snowcapped Mount Rwenzori (Margherita Peak at 5,109m / 16,700 ft), the park is also known as the “Mountains of the Moon”, and it is the park’s defining feature.
