3-Day Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

This 3-day safari takes you to Uganda’s most visited national park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. Located in the western part of Uganda, approximately 376 km from Kampala via the Masaka-Mbarara highway, Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to over 100 mammal species, 606 bird species, chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge, and more. You will also experience wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and the famous Kazinga Channel that connects Lake Edward to Lake George.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 :Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Departure: After an early breakfast, you will be picked up by our representative/guide from your hotel or residence in Kampala.Journey: Begin your 6-hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Masaka-Mbarara highway.

  • First stop: The Equator in Masaka, where you can carry out some experiments, visit local markets, and take photos.
  • Second stop: A lunch break in Mbarara.
  • Drive into the park: Continue to the park, passing open savannah grasslands, tea plantations, and spotting wildlife like the Ankole long-horned cattle, elephants, and monkeys.

Evening Game Drive: Once at the park, you’ll head for a rewarding evening game drive to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife.Accommodation: Head to your lodge, check-in, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02 : Game drive and Boat Cruise

Morning Game Drive: Wake up early for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Spot Uganda Kob, elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and various bird species.

Late Breakfast: After the game drive, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.

Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel: After breakfast, enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Watch wildlife like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs on the shore. Spot bird species like Pink-backed Pelicans and Malachite Kingfishers.

Afternoon Options: After the boat cruise, opt for a nature walk to explore small wildlife species or a cultural encounter with the local communities. These activities are led by experienced guides.

Return to Lodge: After your activities, return to the lodge for a late lunch, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 03 :Departure to Kampala

Morning Activity: After breakfast, check out of the lodge and head for a primate (nature) walk in the park.
Lunch Break: Enjoy a lunch stop before beginning your return journey to Kampala.
Stop at Mpambire Drum Center: On your way back, stop to see where traditional drums are made by locals in the Mpambire Drum Center.
Return to Kampala: Continue the journey back to Kampala, where your guide will drop you at your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe or at the airport for your flight.
