Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart Nairobi at approximately 7:00 AM after breakfast and drive northwest to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch and check in at your lodge. The journey takes approximately 3 hours, passing through the Great Rift Valley with stunning views of the escarpment.

In the afternoon, enjoy an evening game drive around the famous “Pink Lake,” known for its massive flamingo populations that often gather along the soda-rich shores, painting the water pink. Lake Nakuru is also Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary, protecting one of the world’s largest populations of both white and black rhinos.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive southwest to the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. The journey takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, passing through the scenic Kenyan countryside and the town of Narok, the gateway to the Mara. Arrive at your camp or lodge in time for lunch and settle in. In the late afternoon, head out for an evening game drive in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, and buffaloes. As the sun sets over the savannah, the golden light creates perfect conditions for photography.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

Spend the day exploring the Masai Mara with morning and late afternoon game drives. The Mara is famous for its high density of big cats lions, leopards, and cheetahs are regularly spotted. Expect to encounter large lion prides, herds of zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, impalas, and hyenas.

Migration Season (July–October): If you are visiting during the migration season, the Mara River becomes the stage for dramatic crossings of wildebeest and zebras one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth. Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi

After an early breakfast, check out and begin the return journey to Nairobi, arriving around lunchtime. The drive takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, passing through the Great Rift Valley with one last chance to enjoy the stunning views.

Enjoy lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant, a Nairobi institution known for its unique game meat grill and vibrant atmosphere. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your onward journey or to your hotel.
