Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive south to Amboseli National Park, taking the scenic Mombasa Road route. The journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, passing through the Athi Plains and into the savannah landscape that surrounds Amboseli. On clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro appears on the horizon, its snow-capped peak rising 5,895 metres above the plains.
Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and settle in. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, spotting Amboseli’s famous large elephant herds, lions, buffaloes, impalas, and more, all set against the iconic Kilimanjaro backdrop. The park’s open plains and swamps support a variety of wildlife, and the golden light of the late afternoon offers perfect conditions for photography. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Amboseli National Park Safari
Start the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife activity is at its peak and Kilimanjaro is at its clearest. The morning hours are the best time to spot predators such as lions and cheetahs returning from the night’s hunt. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relax through the heat of the day, enjoying the scenic surroundings.
In the afternoon, head out for another game drive across Amboseli’s swamps and open plains. The swamps of Enkongo Narok and Olokenya attract large concentrations of elephants and buffaloes, providing excellent viewing opportunities. Observation Hill offers a panoramic view of the entire park with Kilimanjaro in the distance. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive to Tsavo West National Park, a journey of approximately 3 hours. Tsavo West is known for its rugged landscapes, volcanic hills, and diverse wildlife.
Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, then visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, home to over 80 black rhinos. This is one of the best places in Kenya to see these endangered creatures in their natural habitat. The sanctuary is also home to other wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

The springs are also a great spot for photography and bird watching, with fish eagles and kingfishers commonly seen. After lunch, drive approximately 2 to 3 hours to Tsavo East National Park, Kenya’s largest protected area. Tsavo East is known for its vast herds of elephants and diverse wildlife, set against a landscape of red-dust plains and the dramatic Yatta Plateau, one of the world’s longest lava flows. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, spotting elephants, lions, antelopes, zebras, and the park’s famous red-dust wildlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
