10 Days – From Sipi Falls to Kidepo Valley – Wildlife, Culture & Adventure Hike the stunning Sipi Falls, meet the Karamojong people in remote Moroto, explore the wild savannahs of Kidepo Valley, witness the thunder of Murchison Falls, search for tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth, and spot zebras in Lake Mburo. This comprehensive Ugandan safari combines wildlife, culture, and adventure in one unforgettable journey.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Sipi Falls

Our Usoke Operator will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Entebbe. You will then transfer to Sipi Falls in eastern Uganda 5–6 hours. The drive takes you through spectacular scenery – rolling hills, tea plantations, and lush countryside. You will have a stop over in Mbale for lunch.Proceed to your lodge. From the lodge, you will have breathtaking views of the falls as the Sipi River flows down from Mount Elgon. Afternoon: Enjoy a guided Sipi Falls hike to the waterfalls. You will also visit coffee plantations, giving you a chance to learn how coffee is processed, followed by a coffee tasting. Check into your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Moroto – Karamojong Cultural Tour

After an early breakfast, drive approximately 6 hours to Moroto Town in the northeast region of Uganda – homeland of the Karamojong people. Continue to the foothills of Mount Moroto. In the afternoon, go for an authentic Karamojong cultural tour. Experience their local livelihoods visit a manyatta (traditional homestead), learn about cattle herding – the foundation of Karamojong life, see traditional dances and hear stories from elders and understand their warrior traditions and unique way of life. Return to your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park (approx. 5–6 hours). The park is located in the far north-eastern part of Uganda, near the borders of South Sudan and Kenya. The drive is breathtaking, offering incredible views of the countryside as you approach the Karamoja region. You will stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic drive to the lodge, viewing animals such as elephants, buffalo, zebras, and several bird species. Check into your prepared accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game Drives in Kidepo Valley National Park

Morning: Enjoy an early morning game drive towards the Kidepo Valley in search of wildlife. Kidepo is one of Africa’s wildest parks, home to species rarely seen elsewhere in Uganda zebras, giraffes, and buffaloes, elephants and waterbucks, warthogs and ostriches, lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
Midday: Visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs – a fascinating geothermal feature at the northern end of the park.

Evening: Spend time in a Karamojong community, learning about their traditional lifestyle. This cultural encounter adds depth to your wildlife adventure. Return to your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge early in the morning. Then hit the road to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area 6–7 hours. You will pass through the famous Kitgum Triangle and have a stopover in Gulu for lunch – a bustling town with a rich history. Arrive at Murchison Falls in the late afternoon. Check into your prepared lodge. Then visit the top of the falls, where the Nile explodes through a 7-metre gap. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Game Drives and Afternoon Boat Cruise on the Nile

Morning: Enjoy early morning game drives on the plains of Murchison Falls. You will have a chance to spot rothschild giraffes and spotted hyenas, lions and leopards, buffalo, Uganda kobs, and hartebeests, elephants and waterbucks. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon: Embark on a 3-hour launch cruise on the River Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the banks, you will see African elephants and hippos, nile crocodiles and antelopes monkeys and numerous water bird species. After the cruise, you may take an optional hike to the top of the falls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, transfer from Murchison Falls to Queen Elizabeth National Park 350km, 5–6 hours south. The safari offers a look at rural Ugandan life as it travels across a variety of settings – grasslands, rolling hills, and local villages. As you approach the park, enjoy a picturesque drive through diverse ecosystems, including crater lakes. Upon arrival, enjoy an evening game drive offering the chance to see elephants and buffalo, Uganda kobs and waterbucks, lions and hyenas, warthogs and antelopes. Check into your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Game Drives and Afternoon Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel

Morning: After breakfast, set out for an early morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth Park. You will spot a variety of wildlife waterbucks, lions, and African elephants, Hartebeests and Rothschild’s giraffes, Antelopes, Cape buffalo, leopards, and warthogs and Views of different crater lakes. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon: Prepare for a 2-hour launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel – a 36km waterway connecting Lakes George and Edward. This channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the world. You will also see Nile crocodiles, African elephants and antelopes, Numerous bird species (fish eagles, pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers)  Enjoy a game drive as you return to the lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, embark on a road trip to Lake Mburo National Park 3–4 hours. Lake Mburo is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah parks but surprisingly rich in wildlife. The drive goes through stunning scenery – farms, markets, plantations, and rolling hills. You will have a stopover for lunch en route. Lake Mburo is a habitat for large numbers of zebras (dazzles), Impalas, oribis, and elands, Cape buffalo and warthogs, Waterbucks and over 332 bird species. Upon arrival at the park in the afternoon, enjoy an evening game drive.Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Entebbe – Walking Safari & Equator Stopover

Morning: After an early breakfast, embark on a morning walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you will get a chance to see zebras and impalas up close, giraffes and elands, cape buffalo and a variety of tropical birds. This is an immersive, up-close experience that game drives cannot match. Return Journey: Check out of the lodge and transfer to Entebbe International Airport 4–5 hours as you bid farewell to the Pearl of Africa.Equator Stopover: Along the route, make a stopover at the Equator line in Kayabwe – stand with one foot in each hemisphere, watch the water swirl experiment, and take photos. Continue to Entebbe. You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport in time for your departure flight.
