Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Airport Pick-up and Hotel Transfer
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your Usoke Explorers driver-guide will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, you may rest or take a short city orientation. Your guide will provide a briefing on the 8-day safari ahead.

Day 2: Road Trip to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you will drive 6–7 hours north to Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s largest conservation area. The journey takes you through small towns, roadside food markets, and rural villages. You will arrive in the afternoon for lunch at the lodge. Later, you will hike to
the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile explodes through a 7-metre gap. Your driver returns you to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Nile
Wake early for breakfast, then head out for a morning game drive along the northern banks of the River Nile. Watch for elephants, Rothschild giraffes, lions, buffaloes, leopards, Uganda kobs, hyenas, and warthogs. After 3–4 hours, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. The Nile River is teeming with hippos and crocodiles. The views of the waterfall plunging through a narrow gorge are spectacular. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Drive from Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kibale National Park. This is the longest drive of the safari (6–7 hours), but the scenery is beautiful – green countryside, rolling hills, valleys, and views of the Rwenzori Mountains. You will stop for lunch along the way and arrive at Kibale in the evening. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park
Breakfast is served early then transfer to the Kanyanchu Visitor Center for registration and briefing. Then begin your chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest – home to the highest concentration of chimpanzees in East Africa. The trek lasts 1–3 hours. When you find the chimps, you will spend one hour observing them. Other primates, birds, and even forest elephants may be encountered. After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive upon arrival, spotting large herds of animals. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise and Drive to Bwindi
After early breakfast, head for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel – a natural waterway connecting Lakes George and Edward. This is a highlight of any Queen Elizabeth visit. You will see hundreds of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a rich variety of waterbirds. Return to the lodge for your luggage, then drive south through the Ishasha sector. Look out for tree-climbing lions in the fig trees. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
This is the most memorable day of your safari. After breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. By 8:00 AM, you will enter the Impenetrable Forest with ranger guides and trackers. The trek can last 1–5 hours depending on where the gorillas have moved. The terrain is steep and dense. Porters are available for hire (additional cost). Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend one magical hour with them – watching the silverback, mothers with infants, and juveniles playing. The eye-to-eye connection with a mountain gorilla is profound and life-changing.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, you may take a community or village visit (optional). Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 8: Journey Back to Kampala
After breakfast, begin your 8–9 hour journey back to Kampala. You will stop for lunch en route in Mbarara Town or at the Igongo Cultural Center. You will also stop at Mpambire Drum Makers or the Uganda Equator crossing in Kayabwe – stand with one foot in each hemisphere and watch
the water swirl experiment. Continue to Kampala or Entebbe. You will be dropped off at a booked hotel or directly at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of your 8-day Uganda safari.
