This 8–11 Days Rwanda Safari & Zanzibar Beach Extension combines mountain gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking with relaxation on the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar. It is an ideal bush-and-beach itinerary for honeymooners, couples, and travelers seeking both adventure and leisure.
The program blends Rwanda’s rainforest ecosystems with the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali arrival
Day 2–3: Volcanoes (Gorilla trekking)
Day 4–5: Nyungwe (Chimpanzees)
Day 6: Transfer to Zanzibar
Day 7–10: Beach relaxation
Day 11: Departure
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Arrival at Kigali International Airport and transfer to hotel. Depending on arrival time, optional city tour including Kigali Genocide Memorial and local craft markets.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, drive to Volcanoes National Park. Check in and relax with views of the Virunga volcanoes. Optional cultural village visit in the afternoon.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
Early morning briefing followed by gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Spend one hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Scenic drive through Rwanda’s countryside toward Nyungwe. Optional stop at Lake Kivu for photos.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk
Morning chimpanzee tracking experience. Afternoon canopy walk offering elevated views of the rainforest ecosystem.
Day 6: Transfer to Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, meet local representative and transfer to your beach resort.
Day 7–10: Zanzibar Beach Relaxation
Enjoy leisure days along Zanzibar’s Indian Ocean coastline. Activities may include:
